I am having such a hard time trying to figure out which type of insurance is better for a diabetic to have. Currently I signed up with BCBS of Florida through my employer at a 750.00 deductable, PPO. I chose the PPO initially becasue I didn’t want to switch any of my doctors around. But now with these omnipod supplies I have to get, they told me one box was going to cost me $297.00! a three month supply over $800.00! Is this price normal or have I picked the wrong insurance? I honestly cannot afford these prices and I want to stay on the omnipod..I understood 20% until deductable was met which is ok I just want to make sure that these costs WILL apply to my deductable. If so my supplies will be pretty cheap the rest of the year. So I guess my question is this: What type of insurance are you omnipodders on and what costs are you experiencing?
