Supply distributors who deal with Disetronic/Accu-Chek pumps AND Medicare?

Hello all. I’ve been a longtime watcher of this community, but haven’t posted anything in a while. I need some advice (like whoa, as the kids say).

I currently use an Accu-Chek Spirit, which is what I was “upgraded” to after Disetronic was bought out by Roche Systems a few years ago. Recently Diestronic stopped accepting supply orders from people with Medicare as their primary insurance, so I’m in need of finding a new distributor.

Problem is, I’ve been dealing solely with Disetronic for the past 10 years, so I truly haven’t much of a clue as to what I should be looking for in a distributor, to help distinguish the “good” ones from the “not so good, if not actually just full of suck” ones. And I’m also unsure of what sort of questions to ask such places to actually find out.

So! I figure that surely there must be someone out there who uses the same pump as me and is also on Medicare, and is therefore in the same boat as me or at least HAS been in that boat. If you’re one of those people: what distributor did you end up settling on? What’s their service been like?

And even if you aren’t in my exact position, if you know of a distributor that meets my search parameters (bonus points if you’ve actually dealt with them yourself) and you consider to be reputable, please let me know, thank you.

One other thing: do these places vary in how long it takes them to actually get you processed, before they can/will send out the first order? If so, then I’m definitely wanting a distributor that can get me into their system as fast as possible. I’m almost out of infusion sets and Disetronic is for some reason unwilling to just directly sell supplies to me out-of-pocket–apparently, simply being on Medicare all in itself disqualifies me, although bugger all if I understand why.

*hugs the channel* Thanks in advance for any suggestions, all input is welcome! Hope everyone’s having a groovalicious day, or at least managing without going postal. ;-)
