David Greenholtz is the president and co-founder of KeyVive. His life-long relationship with diabetes began at age four; he watched his father boil insulin syringes as part of his daily routine. Mr. Greenholtz’s dedication to helping people with diabetes grew even stronger when he married his wife, Aimee, who has type 1 diabetes. Combined, these influences sparked Greenholtz’s vision to create KeyVive, a new online lifestyle community for people affected by diabetes.
He is a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). In 2001, he co-founded the Kids Rock The World (KRTW) program with wife and co-founder Aimee. The event empowers children with diabetes to take control and promotes courage and confidence in improving their lives. KRTW operates in two markets: Park City, Utah and Los Angeles, California, and is currently a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) co-sponsored/branded initiative with KeyVive.Mr. Greenholtz founded and served as CEO of Interwest Financial Group (IFG), a mortgage finance company that provides residential and commercial financing. He previously owned and operated several financial services firms, focusing largely on mortgage lending.
David Greenholtz graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics. In addition, he concluded the Anderson School of Business Executive Program at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He currently resides in Park City, Utah with his wife and two children.
Aimee Greenholtz is executive vice president and co-founder of KeyVive. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 23 years old, Ms. Greenholtz has lived with the disease for more than 19 years. Knowing first-hand the importance of quality care and diabetes education, Ms. Greenholtz continues to dedicate her time to supporting those affected by this disease.
Having joined the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as a volunteer in 1999, Ms. Greenholtz served as vice president on the board of directors for the San Fernando Valley chapter. She has spent many years as a board member and public relations practitioner with a focus on school awareness initiatives for the organization. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Salt Lake City.
In 2001, Aimee Greenholtz established a teen program, Kids Rock The World (KRTW) for the ADA in Los Angeles. Gary Long has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry.
Mr. Long began his career as a systems engineer for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and has managed several high profile government projects. He spent seven years at EDS before joining Business Impact Systems (BIS), a smaller start-up technology services company focused on network integration. At BIS, Long was part of the management team that expanded and led the company through a successful acquisition by CIBER Corporation.
In 2000, Long and his business partner founded Strategic Business Systems (SBS), a high-end data storage integration company. As CEO, he managed day-to-day operations. SBS grew successfully to over 300 nationwide consultants, working closely with industry leaders, such as HP, EMC, IBM, Dell, and Brocade. In 2008, Long guided the company through a successful acquisition by Brocade. He continues to provide consulting expertise to leading technology service providers.
Mr. Long graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Information Systems. He is an avid sports enthusiast and resides in the Washington, DC area with his wife and two girls.
Dr. David Kayne serves on the KeyVive Advisory Board where he brings his dedication to optimizing diabetes management to the company.
Dr. Kayne has extensive clinical trial experience and over the past 18 years has conducted studies related to technological development of glucose sensors and carbohydrate calculators. He is deeply involved in diabetic pharmacologic research that has contributed to the approval of well-known medications, including Amaryl, Glumetza, Byetta, Humaolg, Epidra and Lantus insulin. He performs studies related to the development of long-acting Byetta and insulin patch pumps.
Dr. David Kayne was honored by Medtronic MiniMed and received the Center of Excellence award from for his dedication to insulin pump therapy and glucose sensor technology. He also received the Shirley Kayne Community Service award from the American Diabetes Association for his commitment to helping people in the community affected by diabetes.
As a long-time supporter of the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), Dr. Kayne serves on its board. He is also chairman of the Diabetes Committee for Providence Tarzana Hospital. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors for the American Diabetes Association, San Fernando Valley chapter.
He graduated from Occidental College with a Bachelors of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Biology and from the University of Southern California (USC) Medical School with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He conducted his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at the UCLA Veterans Administration (VA) in Los Angeles, where he served an additional year as Chief Medicine Resident. Dr. Kayne resides in West Hills, California with his wife and five children.
Bruce Friedman serves on KeyVive’s Advisory Board. He brings 20 years of senior management experience in both domestic and international company leadership to KeyVive.
He is chairman, CEO and founder of Charles Flora Consumer Products, a privately held corporation specializing in acquiring brands in the consumer space. The company manages a portfolio of brands that include Lavoris mouthwash, Duz soap, Ipana toothpaste and Metrecal snack food. Licenses include Clifford the Big red Dog and Lassie.
Mr. Friedman has been president, member of the board of directors and executive vice president of international operations at PartMiner International, a global supplier of electronic components. He was PartMiner’s seventh employee and was credited with designing and building its strong sales force. Mr. Friedman established stellar gross revenue for the company in 13 countries with over 600 employees and lived in Copenhagen while building PartMiner’s European business from a single employee to six offices and 70 employees. Formerly, he served as president of Certified Industries International (CII), leading the company to raise more than $150 million in private equity investment.
Bruce Friedman graduated from University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelors of Arts degree, in Business, Communications and History. He resides in Agoura, California and is a fellow of the Wexner Heritage Foundation.
Kenneth Bernstein is a member of KeyVive’s Advisory Board. He is an Islet Cell Transplant recipient and has lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 54 years. Mr. Bernstein brings in-depth knowledge and expertise in business management and non-profit organizations to KeyVive.
Mr. Bernstein has over 30 years serving on the board of directors for corporations and charities. His experience includes founder and director of recently formed California United Bank, The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), a recognized world leader in diabetes cure-focused research. Additionally, he was on the board for California United Bank, the American Diabetes Association, and as vice chairman of the board and secretary of the University of San Fernando College of Law.
Bernstein is chief operating officer and sole shareholder of BFC Financial Corporation, a diversified holding company that invests in and acquires mid-market businesses. For 20 years BFC was a commercial lender to the Los Angeles business community. He was instrumental in representing Graphic Orb, Incorporated in the sale of their company to Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG). Mr. Bernstein represented and facilitated the re-structure and ultimate sale of GP Color Imaging to a private investment group. He advocated for MediaVu LLC in the sale of their company to an international publicly traded company, Deluxe Laboratories, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rank Incorporated.
Kenneth Bernstein graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Finance. He currently resides in Studio City, California with his wife and daughter.
Robert Bills serves on KeyVive’s Advisory Board. He brings more than 35 years of experience in hospital management and administration, as well as consulting for a number of physicians’ offices and practices to KeyVive.
Mr. Bills served as president, CEO and vice chairman of the board at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. He was responsible for overall hospital direction and growth, and general and acute care. During his tenure at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Mr. Bills recruited Southern California Orthopedic Institute Group (SCOI), one of the largest and most successful orthopedic groups in the nation. In addition, he facilitated the opening of a new patient tower, which consisted of 188 beds. Mr. Bills negotiated the successful closure and transition of patients from CHW Northridge Hospital, Sherman Way campus to Valley Presbyterian Hospital. The 18-month endeavor led to an increase in patient volume in the Emergency Department, OB/GYN Service, Medical, Surgical and GI Lab business at VPH.
Robert Bills is on the Board of Directors for California United Bank (CUNB), a publicly traded middle market bank and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has served on the board for Health Care Association of Southern California (HCSC), Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA), Independent Colleges of Southern California (ICSC) and Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA). In addition, he served on the board for University of La Verne Board of Trustees, Hathaway Children and Family Services, and ONE Generation.
Mr. Bills graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Zoology; from California State University, Northridge with a master’s degree in Economics, Finance and Labor Law; and from Northwestern University with a masters in Business Administration, specializing in Healthcare Administration, Marketing and Industrial Relations. He currently resides in Tarzana, California with his wife and two children.
Stacy Ehrlich is a member of KeyVive’s Advisory Board, bringing her expertise in food and drug law to the company.
As a partner at Kleinfeld, Kaplan and Becker LLP, in Washington, D.C., she specializes in all aspects of consumer product regulation with particular knowledge in marketing of dietary supplements, foods and cosmetics, pharmaceutical and medical device approval. Her practice also embraces promotion and life cycle issues, health care fraud and abuse, false advertising and privacy issues affecting pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She has delivered speeches and authored articles on topics within the area of her specialized practice. Ms. Ehrlich additionally co-authored a chapter in the Food and Drug Law Institute publication, How to Work with the FDA.
Ms. Ehrlich takes pride in living a healthy life. She teaches power yoga, spinning and sports conditioning classes. She also enjoys more adventurous sports like snowboarding, mountain and road biking, rock climbing and hiking.
Stacy Ehrlich graduated from Emory University with a Bachelors degree, magna cum laude, in English and Judaic Languages and Literature. From Harvard Law School she received a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two children.
